How to install Opcom on Windows XP:
Here is the installation instruction on OPCOM Hardware V1.59 on Windows xp.
Open “My Computer/ OP-COM (E:)” to copy all the files to a new established folder named “op-com” in “Local Disk (C:)”.
The send “OP-COM” from“Local Disk (C:)/op-com” to Desktop.
Install software for USB Serial Converter
Click on “Next” with the selection of “Install from a list of specific location (Advance)”.
Select “search removable media” and “include this location in the research”, then to “Browse” for “Desktop/My Computer/Local Disk (C:)/op-com/Drivers”. Then Click on “Next”.

Click on “Next”.
Click on “Finish” for successful installation of the software for USB Serial Converter.
Right Click on “My Computer” for “Manage”.
Select “Device Manager/PC-201103301537/Universal Serial Bus controllers/USB Srial Converter”.

Close the interface.
Open “Shortcut to CP-COM”.
Select “Settings”.

Click on “Test Interface”. And Click on “Close” on “Interface Test Result”.

Click on “Save Config” button, Click on “OK” for “Configuration saved”.

Select “Diagnostics”.
Click on “Automatic Vehicle Information”.
Click on “KWP-2000”.

Click on “Diagnose ECM”.
Click on “Back”.

Click on “Fault Codes” button.

Click on “Back”.

Click on “Close”.
Click on “Back”.
Click on “Back”.

Open opcom software CD

Copy Opcom drivers folder to desktop
Extract Opcom 2012+ DB 2014.zip folder
Copy Opcom 2012+ DB 2014 folder to desktop
Connect opcom 1.95 interface with laptop

Device driver software was not successfully installed
No driver found.

Opcon Computer-> Manager->Device Manger-> Other device-> Opcom USB V2
right click Opcom USB V2
select Update Driver Software
Select Browse my computer for driver software
save driver software to C:/Users/AADD/Desktop/Opcom drivers

Windows has successfully updated your driver software
Check now you can see USB Serial Converter

right click USB Serial Converter ->Driver tab
Driver has been successfully installed
Step 2: Run Self Test (2014V Software)
Open Opcom 2012+ DB 2014 folder on desktop

Run VAUXCOM software as administrator

Select Settings

Test interface

Frimware version V01.95
interface test ended successfully
Save configuration.
Step 3:  Run 2014V VAUX-COM 120301a 
Select Diagnostic functions

Select Automatic Vehicle Identification
select KWP-2000

Opcom windows 8 “driver not found”:
Can't get it to run on windows 8, worked fine on my old w7 laptop. Tried to download software from the disc that came with the op-com then went to devise manager to op-com v2 to find drivers. Clicked on the drivers file but was told the drivers couldn't be found
Customer solution of Vaux com windows 8:
I had the same problem when ideally I would have liked to of run Vaux-Com on my Windows 8 laptop. However since I have several machines running different OS's anyway I didn't bother trying the following solution.
Microsoft gave Windows 7 users a way to run older applications via 'Windows XP Mode'. With Windows 8 that mode is no longer officially supported, and if you want to run Windows XP in a virtual machine, you need the license for it.
There is a workaround however,within the free WindowsXPMode_en-us.exe file, there's a VirtualXPVHD file containing the Windows XP virtual machine, which you can open in VirtualBox.
Here are the steps to get this working:

1. Download http://www.microsoft...ls.aspx?id=8002from Microsoft. You'll need to run the validation tool to prove your copy of Windows is valid.
2. Then use 7-Zip or another archive tool to open the EXE file as an archive.
3. Within that archive, find the "sources/xpm" file within it, and extract that folder to your hard drive.
4. Finally, in the extracted xpm file, you'll find a file called VirtualXPVHD. Rename it with a VHD extension.

In VirtualBox, open the VirtualXPVHD virtual machine, and voila! You've got Windows XP Mode (running Windows XP Professional) in Windows 8, no need for the XP license.
This might also be possible with Windows 8's built-in virtual machine manager, Hyper-V, but that's only available in Windows 8 Pro.
